3 Tips on How to Advertise Your Services after Passing the Arizona Contractors Exam

Last updated 4 months ago

After passing the Arizona contractor exam and establishing your construction company, one of your biggest concerns will be attracting customers.  People are always making renovations, additions, and repairs to existing residential or commercial structures, and having both an online and a physical presence plays a major role in how many targeted leads and sales you will receive.  Consider the following tips for making a presence after getting your contractor license:

1.      Display Your Credentials

Arizona law requires a business to show its license on any form of written advertisement and also prohibits any suggestions that your company is able to perform work for which it is not properly licensed.  However, there is nothing preventing you from indicating your experience or area of expertise within your advertisement.  If customers are not familiar with the different classifications of construction licenses, they will certainly be interested in your company’s past experience.

2.      Showcase Past Work

Whether you’ve collected a body of work over the course of your training or as a contractor in another state, be sure to document all of your work with photographs of before and after pictures.  Collecting a portfolio of major work is a staple for most construction professionals, and it also allows the client to see the quality and craftsmanship of your business.  Carry the portfolio with you to any prospective leads and consider posting it on your website if applicable.

3.      Utilize Cross-Channel Marketing

Recent research indicates that consumers are continually using online communication channels to cross-shop for products and services.  While traditional means of advertisement such as business cards, phone calls, and follow-up surveys are still useful, they become significantly more effective when used in combination with online tools for targeted advertisement.

The Arizona Contractor License Center is here to provide you with all of the resources to be successful after passing your construction license exam.  Call (888) 738-3175 or contact us online to learn more about our services.
