The SRP Energy Efficient Pools Program: What You Need to Know as a Licensed Contractor
As many already know, a new efficiency standard regarding pool pumps went into effect on January 1st of this year. The law itself raises energy standards for pool pumps, meaning that any pool pumps installed from here on must be two-speed or variable-speed pumps. At Arizona Contractor License Center, we’ve seen several contractors looking for more information on the SRP Energy Efficient Pools Program associated with this law.
For anyone not familiar with the program, in order to help save energy and money, rebates are available to SRP customers purchasing a qualifying pool pump for their in ground pool. Qualified pumps must be purchased from and calibrated by a participating professional in order for the customer to apply for the rebate. Available through April 30, 2012, pool pump professionals that perform the calibration of the pump receive a $50 rebate.
